Rick Carter is not a hero. He’s a recruiter for the criminal underworld, helping bad people find other bad people to do bad things. When a job for a mysterious client puts his family in danger, saving them will require a set of skills he doesn’t have. Fortunately, he knows how to find people who do.
My debut action/thriller, The Recruiter, drops in July 2024 from Blackstone Publishing. There’s a strong vein of Ryan Reynolds, Shane Black-type humor running through it that I really hope you enjoy.
Pre-order links are below, and while you wait for July 23rd to roll around, please enjoy this soundtrack I put together for the novel. Each song/artist is mentioned in the story, and the tracklist sets a great overall tone for the book. Oh, and if Hollywood is reading this, the final cut would sound great over opening/closing credits. Just sayin’. Play it loud!
Praise for The Recruiter

“Podolski gives us a comical, action-packed novel that packs Deadpool-style sarcasm and jokes, with John Wick action and strategy in main character Rick Carter who is just trying to do his job and protect his family.”

“Podolski creates a rich new world of assassins and underworld in his debut, setting up a sequel with a cliffhanger that will hit you like a full bucket of frozen water. What captivated and enthralled me above all else is that ultimately, The Recruiter is a resonating narrative about how a man, plunged head first into a world of first-hand violence and chaos, must stay afloat to protect his family against all odds.”
