There’s nothing quite like writing a book. Escaping into a world that you created, feeling that burst of creative energy when writing a scene you love, or the sense of genuine discovery that comes when the story takes a turn you never envisioned. It’s great. But without the help of a literal village, the final manuscript would never be any more than a dust depository in a drawer somewhere. As my debut novel goes through the lengthy publication process, I wanted to provide some insight and give proper credit to the myriad people who will transform my late-night scribbles into something that will give me goosebumps the first time I see it on the shelf of my local bookstore. The following interviews are my attempt to pull back the curtain on everything a book goes through to become the object in a reader’s hand. Going beyond the words I’ve written, you might say.
